Don't Hold Back

It's nearing towards the end of the year and if you're like me, you'll be doing an audit on what you achieved. Did things get in the way of you achieving what you wanted to? This year I got angry at myself for not achieving what I assumed. I talked about it. I cried about it. In the end I realised and admitted, through more tears of frustration and anger, that I simply didn't try as hard as I should have. Maybe try is the wrong word. I believed that i tried. However, there was always something that got in my way, and instead of doing something about it, I let it get the better of me. I coasted through 2018 on good intentions and let fear, pain and my comfort zone dictate my direction. I believed that I couldn't so something because someone else was already doing it and I didn't want to step on their toes. So I didn't push. I let lack of funds dictate how I conducted business rather than focussing on what I could do without any spending money. I guess what I'm trying to say is this. Whether it's an internal or external "problem" that is holding you back.  It's your problem.

If someone did you wrong, who's feeling bad about it? You or them?   How you react to life is completely down to you and you alone.   Will you overcome or be overcome? In the face of adversity, face it. Plan your way around it. Don't let it win. Also, remember, that whether it's real or imagined. Nobody has to face it alone. Talk to someone you trust or employ the service of someone who can help. Create a plan and work through it. Step by step. That's my plan for 2019. Obviously deep seated issues like fear, will always fight to win the battle and I expect to feel that emotion often. Rather than ignoring it however, I will acknowledge it and then refer back to the plan. That's my 2019 resolution. What's yours?
